BACKGROUNDThe Centre will be established in the Department of Experimental Medicine one the most important biomedical departments of Italy, which participates to many EU, national and international programmes and which produces a great number of researches and publications, with a special sensibility to the societal implications of the scientific research. In particular the Department is hosting of the Jean Monnet Chair (TeKla) held by a jurist dealing with bioethics and legal aspects of scienceOBJECTIVES• Identifying a context to discuss about the legal and ethical implications of the research activities; • Improving the collaboration among scholars (at different levels) from different disciplinary fields (i.e. jurists and scientists) • Involving students of medicine, biotechnology, and other scientific disciplines in the discussion on the European Union integration, in particular for that concerns the bioethical and legal issues of the scientific research • Involving other universities from other EU and no-EU Countries;• Establishing a contact point between academic world, local authorities, and enterprises.MAIN ACTIVITIES.Research activities on legal and ethical aspects of the science; .Teaching courses on legal and ethical aspects of the science;.Other activities: i.e. publications, dissemination, management.
