Training course ‘Rethink Media’ is applied by organization Platform Spartak and will be host by organization ASSOCIATION OF SVT PROGRAMME ALUMNI SKOPJE in Kocani, Macedonia from 20.03.2017 to 26.03.2017. By the training course ‘Rethink Media’ we aim to develop media and communication competencies of young workers and youth leaders and provide them an opportunity to experience various tools, methods and techniques that they can apply at their work with young people with goal to develop their media and communication competencies, including ability to think critically. The training course will connect 30 participants coming from the Netherlands (applicant country, Macedonia (hosting country of the project), Bulgaria, Greece, Estonia, Spain, Romania, Slovania, Poland, Croatia and Lithuania. For the participants (youth workers and youth leaders) the training course will be great opportunity to develop their media competencies and to experience tools, methods and techniques that they can apply at their work with young people. Through theoretical lectures, practical workshops and variety of non-formal learning activities we will try to reach the objectives and priorities of Erasmus + Programme especially connected with active citizenship and active youth participation and also reach below set project objectives: - To increase media and communication competencies of youth workers and leaders and provide them an opportunity for new stimulus at their work;- To provide youth workers and leaders an opportunity to experience various methods, techniques and tools that they can apply at the work with young people;- To raise ability of youth workers and leaders to apply media based methods, techniques and tools especially in learning processes focus on raising active youth participation, fighting discrimination, stereotypes and prejudices;- To support sharing good practices across participant’ countries and increase quality of youth work being delivered by participating organizations;- To facilitate developing new projects and initiatives tackling issues connected with media and communication under Erasmus + Programme. The training course will have significant impact on directly involved participants who will get to know new skills, knowledge and attitudes. Especially they will improve their media and communication competencies. Besides better understand of media and communication the participants will also have better knowledge of methods, techniques and tools that they can apply at their work with young people. It means that the participants will be able to deliver more quality activities tackling issues connected with media and communication. Moreover, through participation in the training course the participants will also increase key learning competencies such as communication in foreigner language, cultural awareness, sense of initiative, social and civic competencies including teamwork, leadership or problem solving skills. They will also increase their knowledge of Erasmus + Programme and have better understanding of the Programme and its Key Action. Besides impact on the participants the training course will have also impact on participating organizations that will have possibility to create new networks and partners as well as on their target group who will benefit from new tools, methods and techniques that will the participants apply at their work.
