FINISHED
The urgent need to promote a strong sense among young people, educators, parents and teachers on educational practices that can promote the internalization of the concepts and the values of active citizenship is the main objective of our project. Through daily real life experiences and cross-curricular education at schools, children will get a chance to express themselves and enhance their skills and competences as citizens. The teaching objectives of this project are education of inter-cultural coexistence, human rights and nondiscrimination; enhancement of the notion of personal responsibility. Another objective of our project is to develop the European dimension of youth work as a result of joint activities, international cooperation opportunities. We will also focus on the requirements of the globalized 21st century society. By increasing cultural interaction, we will emphasize global citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular.
Polish Directorate of National Education and Edirne Provincial Directorate of National Education will start a new inter-regional cooperation of public authorities in the field of education, training and youth. Both of the organizations play their role in broadening and deepening the intercultural dialogue and cooperating with schools and other public bodies to take a collective action for the involvement and positive contribution of young people in partnerships.
The actions in the project will increase the participation of the young people in democratic processes in their community to close the gap between the new generation and the adult world, and also strengthen the awareness of the citizens about their status in the EU with their rights and responsibilities in daily life. We will create a website to share all materials and process of the project, ideas, experiences and good practices. Seminars and conferences will be held to raise awareness. New lesson plans and teaching materials will be developed and used at schools for active citizenship education. Young people will carry out voluntary civic engagement activities. With the help of a Pantomime Show and Cinema Sessions, students will be encouraged to develop positive relations and prevent bullying and discrimination. Kite Festival in Turkey and Art Exhibition in Poland will be international cooperation activities to develop the European level of citizenship.
As a result, we will have a pack of innovative lesson plans and educational materials. We will have a collection of useful data of surveys, interviews and questionnaires for future use and the improvement of the existing educational methods and methodologies. Other outcomes and products are freedom themed graffiti on the walls of the schools, Speakers' Corner, a logo, a catchword, a pack of stories and tales about equality, a tea party with the local authorities, an animal care event, leaflets and posters.
We will establish both national and international long-lasting relations throughout the project, which will promote cooperation to overcome negative attitudes towards differences. As educational directorates we will support and monitor the application and the continuity of these innovative education tools after the end of the project. The web-page will be on the Internet for future use, share of experiences and as a platform of continuous communication. We will provide a free access to all information without limits.
