The project “Bio Mountain” aims at increasing environmental awareness and knowledge (on biodiversity and on wilderness heritage) in the cross-border area of Val d'Herens and Valpelline so as to encourage the two areas’ safeguard and value enhancement. This will be achieved through various activities, such as the creation of an environmental education centre, the programming of learning activities (guided tours and hikes) and the use of innovative technologies to transfer and spread scientific contents. Aside from increasing the valleys’ visitors environmental awareness, the project will help to create the regional “VDA Nature Metro” network and to establish the regional natural Park of Val d'Herens. Furthermore, thanks to the connections with Valle d’Aosta’s natural science museum and the cooperation with Val d'Herens researchers, the project will lead to a good diffusion of the environment educational activities.
