renforcement en anglais et méthodologie
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

By submitting this project, our school-which is distinguished by its bi-lingual option ( french/breton)- has chosen to undertake an encounter which will be hugely enriching by means of total immersion in the English language and culture. For some time now, the teaching team has been confronted by certain factors which continue to recur. The fact is, an increasing number of our pupils lack concentration and seem poorly motivated. These difficulties cause them to under-achieve. For this reason, the teachers have mobilized themselves to put in place a plan of action to find other solutions. As far as English is concerned, the teachers must themselves face up to the fact that they lack confidence in their ability to facilitate the teaching of English in a relaxed manner. In addition, they must accept that they either do not possess or have a limited understanding of teaching methods in English. So, it is in this context that the challenge is born. It will make its mark by giving the opportunity to improve lifelong competencies, at the same time affirming European citizenship in confronting a new linguistic experience. It will be composed of several activities which will involve the named English teacher and the five other members of the teaching team. -Phase1: Preparation, as a team, of the research which wil be undertaken in phase 2, in the form of a questionnaire. -Phase2: The Learning Mobility Activities are focussed on re-inforcing both the level of competence in spoken English and the methodology employed in the teaching of languages to a young public. -Phase3: The putting in place of strategies linked to the research done during the "Learning Mobility Activities" using "eTwinning" as an innovating and motivating teaching aid. The anticipated impacts of this project will be in 3 categories. -For the teacher participating in the "Learning Mobility Activities": the visit to another country should enrich her teaching practice and also broaden her knowledge of the discipline, by clearly identifying the competencies acquired and by having confidence in them. -For the whole teaching team: this reflection on the teaching of English in Primary Schools should put in place new practices centred on the young individual, seeking to emancipate him/her. -For the pupils: the new practices should engage the pupils in a more personalized approach marked by greater involvement and better motivation. At the end of this project, the teaching team will spend some time drawing up their conclusions alongside their partner schools and the schools of the region, highlighting in a simple form the benefits identified . The team will present the various teaching aids used. In parallel, the team will promote mobility by making known the existence of standard documents entitled "Europass" to professionals within Education and also to pupils and their families.
