'Reminfor': Reconversion of mining zones into forestry activities

The ´Reminfor´ project aims to combat skill shortages in the forestry sector by training workers affected by mining zones reconversion, in the context of the end of the ECSC Treaty. This project will develop a 'Professional Training and Placement Laboratory' geared towards forestry activities. Project partners will conduct labour research surveys and define current and new professional profiles related to the wood industry, and to natural and landscape resources, including tourism and recreational activities. They will also determine the training needs of the different target groups in need of qualification and requalification. The Laboratory will then design and develop training modules and itineraries according to the professional profiles required by the industry. The resulting research and training materials will be available on CD ROM format and on-line in Spanish and another EU language. They will also provide advice and support for the creation of employment. This Laboratory will count on the participation of all the actors contributing to the process of regional economic and social transformation, public administrations, educational centres, chambers of commerce and agents for the dissemination of the project results.
