PROJECT
FINISHED
The project `Ready, Steady, Go – Naturefriendly EVS!` aims at enhancing the knowledge about the Erasmus+ mobility opportunities among its network and the European youth, especially promotion of the EVS. The main actors of the project will be two young people interested mainly in international youth work, youth mobility projects, volunteering experience, non-formal & outdoor education and sustainability coming from Germany and Latvia. The core objectives of the project would thus be not only to provide long-term learning opportunities to two young who will spend their voluntary service at the IYNF office, but to empower them to be the role models for their peers to motivate them to participate in EVS projects and be in active contact with various nature-friendly organizations in order to show them the nature of the EVS projects, promote their benefits and motivate them to obtain EVS accreditations and to get actively involved in the future. The project will last from 3rd April 2017 until 2nd April 2018 and the activities can be divided into 3 main areas: work in the IYNF office, support of international activities and local actions. Involvement in these will be balanced. The daily tasks of the volunteers will focus on international communication and digital media - they will support the content and development of the IYNF social media and webpage, they will write articles according to their field of interest, work on creative design, learn how to edit pictures and create videos and promote the EVS programme. On top of that, volunteers will get a chance to take actively part in the day-to-day life of an international organization as well as experience the NGO field-work. It is foreseen that the volunteers will take part in 2-4 international activities during their EVS project, which will be organized by the IYNF Secretariat and they will also have a chance to participate in an activity organized by Duha, the IYNF Czech member organization or other Prague-based organization. The third part of the EVS project is get active in the local Czech environment, which translates mainly in developing their own mini-project ideas. The project will stimulate volunteers to attend various local activities and meet with different NGO stakeholders in Prague. We aim for the project to have a significant impact on the development of volunteers’ key competences and their personal growth. They will develop their communication and foreign language competences, improve their learning to learn and digital competences, enhance their cultural awareness, while supporting the IYNF Secretariat with social media management, photo & movie editing, writing & proofreading articles, developing creative promo materials, etc. They will be encouraged to get active also locally by coming up with their own mini-project ideas and turning them into concrete actions thus enhancing their creativity, self-confidence and entrepreneurial spirit. We expect that the diversity of activities and responsibilities volunteer will experience will positively influence their chances on the labour market once they start searching for a job. The hosting organization will benefit from presence of two young enthusiastic and motivated volunteers full of new ideas which they will be encouraged to bring to life. A promotional video about EVS and its benefits shall be one of the results of this project which will be used during but also after the project as a powerful tool of dissemination and promotion of naturefriendly EVS. The promotion of voluntary activities should contribute to raising awareness about its benefits and to increasing the number of members of the IYNF network involved in the EVS program. We hope that the positive experience of the EVS volunteers will be a motivation for other young people mainly within but also beyond the IYNF network to get involved in volunteering, good causes they believe in and thus contributing to increasing the quality of youth work locally as well as on the international level. The sending organizations are active locally hence their participation in this EVS project will strengthen the international dimension of their work and enable them to get new contacts. On the organizational level, the newly gained knowledge and expertise of volunteers is foreseen to improve the quality of EVS projects in their respective hosting organizations. On the level of the target group, i.e. young individuals, we believe that volunteers and the experience they will share will be a strong motivating factor for their peers to take an active part in international projects, especially EVS, as well, and that it will contribute to raising awareness about benefits of international volunteering as well as about various European matters.
