Aims of the project "Culture in our city!" is to involve young EVS volunteer with less opportunities who is active on field of culture and arts in Youth center Podlaga via program Erasmus+. Besides youngsters and children from different social backgrounds will be included into the project. All participants will have an opportunity to strengthen their feeling for active participation and active citizenship, active rule in creating and changing a society through culture and artistic practices. They will have a possibility to work in international environment, to learn new European languages, to exceed stereotypes and prejudices. Aims of the project are: increase knowledge, competences and skills relevant for employment through non formal education to all youngsters involved into the project. Besides we want to strength their self confidence, self development, awareness that they can actively contribute to their society and its changes through work on field of culture and arts. In case of approved project, the volunteer will be 28 years old Catalina Eugenia Matei, who comes from Romania. Despite her master degree from architecture, she is still unemployed. Besides economical obstacles she is facing also with geographical limits: she lives in a small village with no possibilities to do non formal or other type of activities. Project will provide inclusion for all youngsters from our local environment and other members of our community no matter of their gender, social or ethical background. Project will carry out the following activities: - activities based on culture and art (workshops, courses, artistic interventions, guerrilla artistic action in community, theater, film, help at music and other cultural events at Youth center, - learning about Romanian language, culture and history, - promoting program Erasmus+ (presentations at Secondary school in Sežana, elementary schools in Sežana, Divača, Hrpelje-Kozina, Dutovlje and Komen, library, home for the aged, institutions for persons with mental problems and physical disabilities) - promoting activities of Youth center and publishing information relevant for youngsters on local, regional, national and international level (designing promotion material, refreshing web site, Facebook) Methodology used in the project to reach its goals will be: - non formal education, - individual work, work in pairs, team work, - work on project (aspects of preparation, organization and realization) - work with video, IKT, we, music equipment, - work with people from different backgrounds, - fieldwork. Expected results and impacts of the project are: - increase creativity, awareness of active participation and active citizenship of young people in local community, - developing new methodology to work with youngsters through cultural and artistic practices, - encouraging youngsters to participate on programs of Erasmus+, - motivate young people to learn European languages, - positive contribution from youngsters to local community, - developing of critical thinking and breaking stereotypes and prejudices in local community. Long term benefits of the project: - improve and widen chances of volunteer to get employment at the end of the project, - improve and widen chances to get employment of other youngsters involved in the project, - encourage youngsters from different social backgrounds to take active rule in activities of Youth center Podlaga and local community, - continuing with their artistic and cultural actions which will be developed inside the project, - strengthen a partnership with NGO from Romania and developing cooperation inside Erasmus+ programme.
