PROJECT
FINISHED
In order to prepare students adequately for a successful life as European citizens, school and teaching must change. That is the reason why our school has written up the school development programme "Creating room for studying" aiming at innovating and modernising teaching and schooling. Long-term goals of this project are enabling students to take control of their own learning process and social competences such as teambuilding. Besides we want to offer students the opportunity to make international contact and increase their cultural awareness by participating in exchange programmes with schools from other European countries and by doing multilateral school partnerships.
To achieve our long-term goals, teaching staff need to acquire the necessary teaching tools. Attending teacher training courses, taking part in job shadowing as well as getting to know different teaching concepts and environments are important means to reach this aim. Teachers will profit from meeting teachers from other countries, exchanging experiences and learning from each other. This will also lead to school partnerships involving students.
Implementing the school development project "Creating room for studying" as described above and guaranteeing sustainability is a long-term process. The planned mobilities play an essential role in realising the aims of the school development project as they promote language, methodological as well as intercultural competence.
5 teacher training courses in England, Ireland, Italy and France have been booked. 2 teachers will do job shadowing at our Danish partnerschool Sabro-Korsvejskolen.
Participants prepare for the mobilities by reading literature relevant to the topics. Language competence and methodological know-how of the participants will be updated and their intercultural awareness will be broadened by meeting and working together with teachers from other countries.
Experiencing and taking part in a project week at the Danish partnerschool is vital for our school, as a project like this involving all students of our school is a key-aim of our school development project "Creating room for studying".
The mobilities enhance our professionality and are a major milestone for our school development process.
