During our cooperation as partners, work with youth in our communities, we have noticed a lack of young qualified and willing leaders of projects for better intercultural acceptance in our multiethnic communities. Due to migrations in Europe, we live in situations where even if migrants have been somehow integrated in society, interethnic and other differences among people cause prejudice/tensions in everyday life. Project targets youth workers willing to take the lead of organising quality intercultural dialogue in our projects and communities and willing to improve intercultural learning/dialogue in their activities. The core activity of the project is – 8 days long training course. It will be organised in the youth hostel in Novi Sad, from 20th till 28th October 2014. Project will gather 32 participants, trainers and staff from 12 organisations/countries (Germany, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Turkey, Slovenia, Italy, Romania and Bulgaria). Objectives: • Sharing experience, realities and activities regarding intercultural diversity in our communities/countries • Exploring concepts of intercultural learning, dialogue and acceptance • Mapping cultural diversity related issues in our local youth work, but also in our European youth work and within Erasmus+ YiA projects • Promoting intercultural dialogue as instrument in acquiring the knowledge and aptitudes for dealing with a more open and more complex environment • Discussing criteria and indicators of quality ICL / intercultural dialogue activities • Analysing different levels of quality and criteria - influence of (quality) intercultural learning/dialogue projects on personal, organisational and communities’ level • Developing recommendations for quality criteria and indicators for quality intercultural learning/dialogue projects that are further influencing personal competences development, possible behavioural changes and changes in local communities • Further developing participants' competences in defining, planning and coordinating quality youth work projects which contribute to intercultural dialogue and acceptance of diversity in communities • Introducing the Erasmus+ programme and developing new projects and future European level cooperation among participating organizations with the topic of intercultural dialogue and acceptance The training course is based on the approach and principles of non-formal education and will use a lot of insights from the SALTO booklets, EU policy documents and T-kits of the Partnership programme of EU and CoE. The course is designed as an open learning process based on participants’ experience and exchange. A combination of different creative, participatory and interactive methods will be used and designed upon the profile of participants. All partners will be involved in preparation, implementation and evaluation and follow-up phase and activities during the training course, while the preparation team of trainers, facilitators and staff will be comprised of experienced youth trainers from applicant from Germany (OH), hosting organisation from Serbia (CJCD) and from partner from Croatia (Realization). Project will have biggest impact on direct beneficiaries-participants who will get to know the situations in other participants' communities, share ideas on cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and promoting acceptance of diversity and will further develop creative and analytical thinking of ways of active citizenship for development of intercultural society through development of quality European projects dealing with cultural diversity. Also, there will be important impact on participating / partner organisations who will receive trained people to improve own work with cultural diversity, intercultural cooperation and dealing with quality challenges in intercultural youth work and will be more capable and better equipped for developing of new local and European projects and partnerships. As a potential longer term benefit, we expect the increase in number of youngsters and youth workers that will participate in youth work activities that our direct beneficiaries will organise. Multiplying is also expected with the increased number of youth workers for quality intercultural learning and dialogue, as our participants will be organising workshops for sharing the knowledge they gained.
