Protocall Engineering - IT based learning material for professions in the field of Engineering (in English, Swedish & German)

Protocall Engineering will develop specialist language & engineering modules, primarily for technician-level employees, working in international companies within the Engineering sector. A secondary target group for these modules will be bachelor-level Automation Engineering Students across the partner countries.Neither of these groups has traditionally been offered language training and yet the need to operate across language borders and the potential for mobility within multi-national companies is constantly increasing. The focus will be to increase the level of ability, in Engineering terminology in foreign languages, primarily EN, SV & DE, through the provision of customised, IT-based, self-access courses and thus increase the potential for the mobility of employees in Europe. The learning modules will then be released onto a CD-Rom, containing 10 text units, each of which will contain around 8 hours of learning material for individual students. The modules will exist as multimedia, hypertext units with various support exercises and the CD-Rom will be backed up through the publication of a separate User Manual (to be produced in FI, EN, SV & DE).Dissemination of the project results will take place both through the hosting of an international conference for partners and industry bodies and through the circulation of information through existing partner networks (e.g. Finnish partner 'Promentor' has 150,000 users within both education and industry).
