FINISHED
"Promoting bilingual education" is the project of our institution, the only school in the town. located in a rural area with a low standard of living. After various evaluation carried out, it follows that our students need to improve their skills levels, especially in communication in foreign languages, digital competence and social and civic competences. With a team of teachers characterized by the pursuit of innovation and continuous improvement and a marked European character, the center aims to promote European awareness and promote multilingualism.Almost half of the teachers has already a B2 level CEFR in English, however, in all cases, recycling is needed in terms of learning the language itself and, above all, in terms of methodology CLIL and foreign language teaching. .The project will promote improved learning models in the subject of science and help the extension of bilingualism to other subjects in the near future. We intend to remedy deficiencies in relation to the quality of teaching, new teaching approaches and methodologies (especially those related to CLIL methodology, school failure, student competitions, European dimension, internationalization of the school, promotion of ICT and use of collaborative platforms). It is intended the participation in three types of courses: English language and culture, to increase the linguistic competence of teachers; CLIL methodology to implement appropriated techniques in those subjects taught in English at our school and those intended to be included in the near future in the bilingual program; and new methodologies in teaching English as a foreign language. All this will contribute to increased motivation among students, a step in the acquisition of skills and an improvement in their academic performance. It will promote the use of strategies and techniques to ensure the quality of the integrated learning of content in foreign language, a greater knowledge of English and the use of educational platforms such as e-twinning, to promote the integration of ICT, promoting digital competence of students and internationalization of the school. The integration of skills and experience to be acquired by the participants in the project will be integrated into the strategic development of the school in three phases:• In the short term, the project will be incorporated into all organizational documents• In the medium term, it will set up a blog on the project where materials, experiences and conclusions will be prepared; at school, we will have training activities where participants will show the results of their experiences to other teachers; a resource bank will be created and it will be accessible to everyone; finally, the skills acquired will be integrated in the teaching programs.• Long term: the dissemination of the activities will be promoted through the project blog, website and social media center. Sustainability to continue using the results once the project is completed will ensure the integration into teaching programs and the different organizational documents. The project goal is to obtain a qualitative benefit of the quality of teaching. Therefore we raised the need to train school teachers in CLIL methodology and improving language skills, as we understand the teacher education as a key element. We intend the teachers to achieve an improvement of knowledge and skills in order to promote achievement of the objectives of Europe 2020. We understand that the stages of pre-school and primary education are the basis on which basic skills are settled. It is important that students of this age acquire these key skills to ensure success in the continuation in later stages. The school principal and language school counselor will be responsible for supervising the participants during the training period. Participants in mobility shall comply with the agreements reached, they will meet the host institutions and submit a report together with any supporting documentation required. The project evaluation will take place during the whole process. In the design of this plan it has already been developed a diagnostic or initial assessment, setting the starting point and the identified needs. It has also been made an assessment of prognosis, providing opportunities at school and forecast performance. We will conduct a formative evaluation during the project implementation to improve the process itself and a summative or control evaluation to finalize, to ascertain the degree of achievement of our objectives now. This assessment will be done not only at the time of project completion, but in subsequent years to ensure sustainability.
