In the past few years junior ice hockey club Huskies, Luxembourg has significantly increased the number of children playing ice hockey in Luxembourg and for further growth is necessary to attract additional coach assistance's..
This project provides a great opportunity for volunteers having hockey passion and knowledge to apply them in the fast-growing club. During this experience they will contribute to the promotion to the ice Hockey Culture in Luxembourg, as well the importance for young children to engage themselves for a team sport as lesson learned for their future life.
The EVS-volunteer at Youth Ice hockey Club Huskies Luxembourg will get the chance to broaden your skills and interests in working as assistant coach for youth teams ( U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U18), promotes ice hockey culture and values among a very international and inter-cultural youth public, together with our members and coaches.
The volunteers should have experience of playing ice hockey ,be sociable , speak English / German or French ,they should be friendly and easy establish contact with children of different ages .
here below an not exhaustive list about the possible tasks which the volunteers will do during their staying in Luxembourg:
Support the club in events promoting the sport as well learn to play or real tournaments
Accompany the teams to the weekly games, most of the team play in the French league
Support the head coach in the preparation of training sessions with creativity and interest
Actively contribute and share your knowledge and ideas in our activities
Support the board of the club in promoting ice hockey culture in Luxembourg through social media, facebook, website ect..
We hope to find volunteers feeling comfortable with young children as well as teenagers, able to work in fluently in at least one of these languages: German, French or English, with self-initiative and ability to work autonomously
During they work, participants will be required under, by led of head coach, to successfully implement the program of the International Ice Hockey Federation "Learn to play". Also important part of the project is integration of ice hockey culture from different countries.
