PROGRES - Profesionálny Rast Osobnosti = Globálny Rozvoj Edukačného Systému
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jul 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Primary school, Trieda SNP 20 in Banská Bystrica has 539 students divided into 25 classes. The education process is provided by 39 fully qualified teachers. The school profile is based on the needs of contemporary society, i.e. we focus on foreign languages, computer literacy, environmental action and the development of artistic feeling. The diverse project activities creates for our students a great opportunity to develop their communication skills, independence, creativity and responsibility. However, to successfully fulfill this vision with students, it is crucial for teachers themselves to possess these competencies. Therefore, in the long-term development plan we have been actively seeking the calls which include individual mobility activities of teachers, so they are able to acquire and develop communication skills and competences in foreign languages, to develop cross-curricular education, to discuss in a foreign language about actual global topics and problems, to work with current and modern foreign literature and to use different internet sources in classroom teaching, to improve the pedagogical preparation, to use effective methods, practices and activities, creative material tools, to reflect on and reconsider previously used educational programs and learning thesis, to enrich school activities with innovative elements of education, to exchange the examples of good practice and knowledge with other participants, to establish bilateral and multilateral relationship with participants in order to further perspective cooperation in any future projects . To fulfill these objectives, nine members of educational staff would like to attend the proposed project, including five foreign language teachers and four teachers who are not foreign languages teachers . These employees are planned to participate in a variety of language courses in Austria (4 employees), Malta (4 employees) and Ireland (1 employee). All participants will after successful completion of language trainings or professional foreign language courses present the knowledge and the experience to other colleagues. The individuals will disseminate their competences and examples of a good practice to wider professional community, for example through cooperation with the Methodology and Pedagogy Centre offering seminars, organizing final workshop at home school for teachers from other schools in the region, publishing contributions in national methodology orientated literature (Pedagogické rozhľady, Učiteľské noviny, Dobrá škola, etc.). The most important goal for our teacher will be the implementation of the newly obtained innovative experiences in their teaching practice. They will apply them directly to the classroom teaching and integrate them into the School curriculum and the Thematic educational plans for various school subjects.
