RATIONALE The project "Practical in depth studies abroad" is organized to improve the international aspects of the education given to young learners at Fusa Upper secondary school, which is a fairly small school settled in the middle of the county. OBJECTIVES Both the cook/ waiters and the health care workers are facing the effects of globalization in their working area, thus it is important to prepare them for this. By arranging these mobilities we also aim to increase the numbers of applicants to our school and to help them towards good, educational apprentisships. As far as possible, the students are to work with the objectives in their"In-depth-study"curriculum, together with the ocjectives enlisted by ADC on their Work Experience agreement, PARTICIPANTS Each year 2016 and 2017 we plan for 4 weeks of work placements in Greater London for 2 participants at the age of 17-18 from the 2. year Health Care program and 2 participants from the 2.nd year Cook/ Waiter. ACTIVITIES The main activity is the work placement in relevant enterprises abroad, but prior to this, both staff and learners are to prepare themselves on professional, liqusitic and cultural aspeces of working in London. After the work placements, the staff and learners are to give reports and spread their experience both inside school and outside. METHODOLOGY FUV has organized a work task group, ( dep.learders) that together with the various accompanying teachers and class teachers and the chosen participants. are involed in planning the details within the frames set by ADC and FUV administration. RESULTS AND IMPACTS a short description of the results and impact envisaged (forutsett) IN THE LONG RUN Fusa upper seciondary school hopes to increase the number of applicants and to help improve the quality and attractiveness of these professions in our region, and that theu will remain here , working for the best for this region, apreciating the international dimension in their every day life!
