PROJECT
FINISHED
The project entitled "Students’ Practice for the Provision of Tourist European-Standard Services" is addressed to a group of 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara. The project aims to increase practical skills, for 24 students, in the field of tourism, by doing practical training abroad on two flows.
The option for students' practical training abroad is based on the fact that a small number of local economic agents are able and willing to develop cooperation with educational institutions in the field of tourism. The choice of Italy as the destination country was based on the reputation of the country in the field of tourism, in order to have direct access to examples of good practices in tourism. Practical training will take place abroad, for a period of 21 days (from 1 November 2015 to 21 November 2015, in the case of Flow 1; and from 22 November 2015 to 12 December 2015, in the case of Flow 2), at travel agencies in Bologna, with which YouNet has practical-training contracts.
The project objectives are in accordance with the specific objectives set out in the Erasmus Programme Guide, as well as the acquisition of skills, in order to improve personal development and employability in the European labour market.
The overall objective of the project resides in developing professional competences of 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara in a 12-month period of the project.
The specific objectives of the project are: 1) Practical-skill development for 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara, by conducting the professional-training mobility both in YouNet workshops and Bologna economic agents with which YouNet has practical-training contracts; 2) Developing professional competitiveness for 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara; 3) Capitalizing the interrelationship of 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara with the personnel of travel agencies; 4) Improving Italian-language skills for 24 tourism-specialization eleventh-grade students from Colegiul Economic “Emanuil Gojdu” Hunedoara, at a minimum level of A2, by performing practical training in the company of native Italian speakers, during 2015-2016.
Project activities are specific to the target group. Among those activities there are information and selection activities; training of participants; activities during the mobility; monitoring and evaluation activities; dissemination activities.
The project team will develop risk management since the beginning of the project. As prevention measures, the project activities will be monitored and evaluated permanently; the National Agency will be informed in writing about the situations that would disrupt the smooth implementation of the project; and remedial measures will be taken.
This project aims to achieve the following results: developing professional competences of students, in the field of tourism, in a multi-and intercultural context; improving the students’ teamwork capability, in the context of the European common market; the possibility of a faster future integration of the students on the labour market, thanks to the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in the field of tourism; increasing the student confidence in their own forces, through the accumulation of professional experience; stimulating the students’ participation in the upcoming Erasmus+ projects; improving the psycho-behavioural profile of the students, so that they should be prepared for a career in European tourism; improving the European image of our school, as a VET school.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the participants will gain not only the recognition of their abroad training by the sending organisation, through getting a school mark and a Europass mobility certificate (for their acquired competences); but, moreover, they may benefit of the European recognition of the competence units for which they obtained the transferable credits (ECVET). Moreover, the content of their abroad training will determine the students to reflect more attentively to their status as persons in transition from school to work life.
The sending organization, Colegiul Economic "Emanuil Gojdu" Hunedoara, will promote quality in education, by building on the experience gained by the participants; it will develop new partnership and cooperation relations at the European level; it will become more interesting for students, parents, and the local community. From the perspective of "added value", the transnational dimension of the project is provided by the granting of ECVET credits which can be used at the level of the European Union.
