The mission of The Complex of Gastronomy and Food Industry Schools is heightening the vocational education standards and bringing it closer to the European ones. The needs of the school in the scope of heightening the quality of work within the organisation and international cooperation are as follows: - become acquainted with the vocational education systems in EU countries, - acquaint with modern equipment, technologies, management and work ethic in EU countries, - familiarize with the rules of the work practice arrangement, requirements, and aim of improving educational programmes to current needs of the job market, - strong need of supporting development of students’ competence and qualifications on the European level, improving language skills, -prepare students to work in the homeland and abroad, in different types of catering services, -adapt teaching methods to constantly changing requirements of job market and European standards, -increase the teaching key competence efficiency, -reinforce the European dimension of vocational teaching and training, -raise the attractiveness and quality of vocational training, which will result in students’ higher mobility on the homeland and European job market, -need of teachers’ cooperation with European community, in order to raise the quality of the schoolwork through observation, conversations, discussions, exchanging experiences. Subsequent conclusions, analysis, reports, evaluations will have application to mastering and modifying the present educational system, working methods, attitude. -increase awareness of the need of continuous improvement in professional skills, -improve the communicative skills in multicultural environment, -develop better self-evaluation and motivation among the participants of the project, -help in student’s adaptation to constantly changing and demanding European labour market, especially in the sphere of catering services, Above needs are result of strong desire of developing vocational teaching quality and continual improvement in sharing knowledge. At the same time, the mission and the overriding task of The Complex of Gastronomy and Food Industry Schools in years 2013-2018 is to take care of the students’ proper progress and endeavour to build up their developmental, occupational, emotional, social and physical potential. The Project is directed to our school students who are being educated in professions of: waiter, technician of nutrition and catering services, cook and confectioner. We are planning to send to abroad training period 20 students, 5 of each profession, from II or III year of technical college and vocational school (10 technical college students, 10 vocational school students) who are going to achieve professional skills during one-month period. Fulfilment of the programme goals, concerning the above needs, can have significant impact on lowering unemployment among our graduates. The project is crucially important in present situation, whereas in spite of the high unemployment rate, employers have extremely huge difficulties in finding qualified employees. The mentioned educational mobility will let our institution to provide students with necessary practical knowledge and allow them to become ready and qualified graduates of The Complex of Gastronomy and Food Industry Schools. Practical training in the partner country enriches students in new experiences, skills and efficient work methods, what in consequence will affect the quality of their services. They will be capable of facing the current employers’ requirements in their country and abroad. The experience gained during the foreign stay, observed methods and techniques will contribute to the improvement of the functioning of our institution. Exchanging experiences within the confines of the project will enhance the innovativeness of education and raise the quality of teaching. The growth of knowledge and experience among workers and students, after the period of practical training, will influence the school prestige in local community and make learning in this institution more attractive for prospective students. What is more, it will in significant way fulfill the needs of the local community, what is also one of the main aims of our school strategy and development plan. Achieved experience and competence will make our region more attractive and allow for far better use of Świetokrzyskie region’s potential. The goal of the project is gaining and increasing qualifications allowing for further education in students’ chosen profession or having chance of finding a job. We hope for increasing competence and knowledge level during exchange of experiences. Students will consolidate their position on job market, achieve the ability of coping with stress, and develop intercultural competences, openness, acceptance and tolerance.
