Poprawa jakości pracy szkoły z uwzględnieniem specjalnych potrzeb edukacyjnych uczniów

The purpose of this two-year project is to improve the quality of the school work with particular emphasis on working with pupils with special educational needs. Our facility provides education to students in eighteen classes, out of which six are integrated mixed-ability classes where healthy children and adolescents with mild intellectual, physical, visual or auditory disabilities and learning difficulties learn together. At the same time the school is a place for the development of young, talented, ambitious people who demand a high level of teaching and the environment to achieve success. The specific objective of the project is therefore to improve the use of innovative teaching methods as well as to strengthen the professional, linguistic and ICT competences of the school staff in order to effectively and as quickly as possible improve the quality of teaching, the implementation of the curriculum, the results of final examinations, increase the efficiency of working with students with special educational needs while effectively take care of the development of talented youth. One of the goals of the project is also the opening of school for international cooperation and the implementation of projects as well as increasing its competitiveness. The project will be attended by 13 participants, including teaching staff, management and psychologist, who play the key role in the school curriculum, will be involved in projects, have the capacity to make the best use of the proposed training, are ready to implement their results and share gained competences as well as have the potential and ability to initiate change. They include staff who definitely need improved language skills in order to be able to fully participate in forthcoming projects. The main activities include participation in specialized courses and training as well as job shadowing observation in two partner schools with a similar profile. The courses will include the ones on methodology, the use of ICT in class, innovative approaches and teaching techniques, working with mixed-ability classes including students with special educational needs as well as the language ones. The two schools where job shadowing will take place are located in Spain and Ireland, and they both offer the opportunity to observe the unique practical methodological approaches to the work with disabled students. By participating in the project, our staff will improve their key competences, and the school will gain a better quality of work, improved exam results, modern teaching methods, greater prestige and competitiveness, will be able to offer better education to students with special needs as well as effectively establish and implement international projects. As a result, the school has the opportunity to gain new students, improve its image and have a positive impact on its surroundings.
