The Youth Congress, is a congress of the young people, a congress where the young people decide how the congress is to be formed. It is here the youth council (Ungebyrådet) is to be elected. This council can discuss different agendas and ask the city council to add their proposals to city council meetings agendas. The congress is to be held on Solsidehallen in Nørresundby, Denmark in October 2013, but it is to influence the young environment for the rest of the year, as in 365 days, in shape of The Youth Council and the agendas discussed on the congress. It is estimated that at least 300 young people will be there for the congress. An estimate which is supported by the large number of young people that joined the congress last year and that in some way is or is to be involved in the project in workgroups, networking this year. The purpose of the congress is easiest explained in 3 bullets - Making young people take part in and think about politics and democratic processes, both locally and nationally. - To strengthen the influence of the young environment. - Being an alternative learning forum. Contributing both to social personal development as well as intellectual personal development
