The current economic reality in Europe creates an urgent need for preparing young people to take on difficult roles of participants of modern market economy. The mobility project, which is a part of the program called Erasmus+, creates an opportunity to organize apprenticeships abroad for thirty economics and IT college students. The improvement of student mobility is a part of the European Plan for School Development. There are three groups of students: 1. Two groups of economics students will serve a three-week apprenticeship in London, UK. The first group is planned between 7th and 25th March 2016 and the second between 6th March 2017 and 24th March 2017. 2. For IT students the four-week apprenticeship will be served in IT firms in Germany and is planned between 4th and 30th January 2016. The project’s partners are: The Polish side: Zespół Szkół Nr 10 im. Stanisława Staszica ( sending partner) The German side: Vitalis Betreuungsgesellschaft für Modellprojekte mbH residing in Schkeuditz near Leipzig. The British side: ADC Technology Training Ltd residing in London. The fruitful cooperation between partners results from previously completed ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ projects. The partners will do everything they can to meet the project’s goals with the highest standards and quality. The main goals of the project are: - to upgrade the quality and effectiveness of professional training and teaching ; - to broaden international cooperation in the field of implementing apprenticeship; -to improve social and organizational skills - to gain practical and professional skills on European level ; - to use the newest information and communication technologies in the training process; - to improve both professional English and German; - to increase professional mobility of students and their teachers; - to develop tolerance towards cultural, ethnic and religious diversity. - to increase the chance of finding employment in the European Union. The programme of apprenticeship was agreed with the British partner and consists of the following modules: practical improvement of foreign language, getting to know the company’s functioning in its indoor and outdoor surrounding, commercial documentation, human resources policy, accounting and marketing activity of the company in economic market conditions. London is a perfect place for economic professional training, it has a special place on Great Britain’s market map and is a core financial and trade centre for the country as well as the whole Europe. The British partner will organize apprenticeships for students in the following companies: Wellworking Ltd, Active Care, Maygrove Estate Agents (Kilburn), BFS Interiors. London’s multiculturalism will help the students shape their understanding of other cultures. The students will gain new skills in testing and servicing computer hardware and software. They will also have an opportunity to communicate in English. These are very important life and work qualities needed in the globalization of the European economy. The apprenticeship programme for ICT students provides that will work in German companies from the IT industry such as ZAW – Zentrum fur Aus – Und Weiterbildung In Leipzig GmbH, Robotron Bildungs – Und Beratungszentrum GmbH Leipzig. The students work will involve configuration, operation, installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software. The participants will receive a proper language, cultural and pedagogical training. The project’s participants will be given a certificate and Europass Mobility document in Polish and English which provides opportunities for finding employment not only in Poland but also in the whole European Union. They will also receive references from their employer to make their CV more attractive. In order to complete the apprenticeship the students have to gain a grade consistent with the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET).
