PROJECT
FINISHED
The purpose of the project Perpetuum mobile 2 was to connect education with the labor market through mobility and to increase the quality of vocational education in the transport and logistics sector of the three schools participating jointly in this project. These are: Road Traffic School in Zagreb, Economic School from Čakovec and Mechanical Engineering and Traffic School from Varazdin. We achieved all this:1. by connecting school partners in Croatia and 2. by connecting school partners to foreign partners from Germany, Slovenia, Finland and Sweden. The second mentioned are: Croatian Economic Association in Frankfurt am Main and Frigoair Logistik from Neuss (Germany), School Centre Celje and Ocean Orchids d.o.o from Dobrovnik (Slovenia), Tampere Vocational College Tredu, South Savo Vocational College and Kouvola Region Vocational College (Finland) and Björknäsgymnasiet Boden (Sweden). 90 final year students or students who ended their education from the transport and logistics sector, trained for occupations: motor vehicle driver, road transport technician and logistics and freight forwarding technician, participated in this project. A two-week vocational practice work took place in companies and / or in specialized classrooms and school logistics practicums, equipped with modern warehouse machinery and equipment, driving simulators and ICT tools used in transport-logistic activities.During the vocational practice work abroad students were introduced to different work methods and acquired work experience in an international working environment. They increased their professional skills and competencies and got familiar with the materials, tools and equipment they do not have the opportunity to use in their everyday environment.Businessmen cooperating with schools emphasize the insufficient language competence of potential employees in the labor market, in particular insufficient knowledge of English and German technical terminology. In addition to professional competence, through participation in the mobility we wanted to respond to the perceived problem and increase the linguistic competence of our students, especially in technical terminology. Staying abroad contributed to the development of personal competences: independence, confidence, knowledge and acceptance of diversity.Selection of students was based on the principle of excellence in learning and behaviour, whereby the special attention was given to equal opportunities of participation regarding the gender, nationality or religion. The disadvantaged groups were encouraged.Vocational practice work abroad contributed to a shared vision of consortium schools: to prepare students for equal participation in the European labor market.
