We decided to set up a project of mobility in our high school to favor an interaction with people from a different language and culture and to face a necessity to know other working techniques and to widen the students’ knowledge in a foreign environment. The mobility in the work is an essential asset we need to develop beginning with short stays to give the students the desire to open to Europe and to the world. Moreover the students become aware of the importance of foreign languages in order to get a European and even an international opening. These stays abroad give to our high school an international dimension and this mobility which, currently, concerns pupils from Food and Drink section, is very soon going to concern pupils of trade and sales sections. 24 students have already applied for an internship abroad. If we get grants ,each family will have the opportunity to send one’s child abroad even if they have financial difficulties. This international opening must be given to everybody. Our young people become also the ambassadors of our country and for example as regards our pupils of Food and service section they promote our gastronomy by presenting our regional products. They will learn new cooking techniques and know a little more how they work food items in foreign restaurants. Before signing the agreements we'll contact our partners ( telephone, mail, Skype... ) in order to meet their requirements and tell about our objectives. We select our applicants tthrough their motivation and their own personal, cultural and professional aims. Coming back to France they will report about their work experience and the professional skills they have gained and will incite their school mates to live the same experience. We hope they will be convinced learning foreign languages is a "must" and that they will fancy doing another internship abroad or, maybe, working in the restaurant where they stayed , during summer holidays provided they have given entire satisfaction. In the long run we hope one day we'll hear that one of those students has settled in the United Kingdom , Spain or somewhere else in the world.
