Secondary Scool Rafael Reyes in Cartaya, Huelva.
CONTEXT:
- Rural tourist village in the south-west of Andalusia
- All of the primary and secondary schools in the village have been teaching non-linguistic subjects in L2 (English) since 2006.
-The demand for this type of teaching has increased up to 100% of the pupils that will be coming to our school in the school year 2015-2016.
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS:
- 12 participants
- Teachers with the need for linguistic and methodological updating.
- Teachers with the need for training in diversity awareness in a foreign language.
- Teachers interested in the study of other education systems in order to respond to the educational reality of our pupils with a more European perspective.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES:
Previous to the movement:
- Linguistic updating in the school in order to take advantage of the courses.
During the movement:
- Training courses abroad of a week to 14 days.
- Search for schools willing to take teachers in shadowing programmes.
- Search for partners to do subsequent educational projects like KA2.
After the movement:
- Spread of acquired knowledge to didactic departments, educational teams and the school in general.
- Creation of didactic material and spreading of good educational practice among colleagues.
METHODOLOGY:
-Study of the school's necessities.
- Spreading of the Erasmus Plus programme.
- Search for courses and movement on behalf of the participants.
- Elaboration/writing of the project involving every sector.
- Precision of the organizational and logistical aspects for the carrying out of the movement. Carrying out of the previous and subsequent activities.
- Evaluation of fulfilment of objectives.
Impact expected:
- Linguistic improvement.
- Methodological improvement in order to cope with special needs.
- Importing new organizational ways ways.
- Aquiring the knowledge to increase the European dimension within students and their families.
Possible benefits:
- Combating failure in education, reducing school leaving.
- Increasing equality of opportunities.
- Increasing family participation in their children´s education processes.
