Peers to Peers
Start date: Sep 1, 2013,

Youth participation is often considered as a key mechanism for the construction of citizenship. First, this is due to its educational function, leading to social participation and associative life. Second, it is due to its democracy-building quality, leading to representativeness and democratic culture. Thinking about citizenship today involves exploring thebridges and interactions between different and traditionally isolated approaches. The connections and mutual influences of the different approaches offer the richest keys to understand the complex and permanently changingconcept of European citizenship. The generation which is now between the age of 18 and 25 were all born in 1980s -1990s. As a result, they live in a world which is more interconnected, more volatile, more complex and more potentially liberating than at any previous time. Before looking forwards to where we may be heading, it is useful to reflect briefly on where this group have come from, to highlight some of the defining moments which they have lived through and the things they take for granted. The project will let the young people to know that we work together and learn from each other, we try to promote this benefit to passing to the next generations. During the exchange the participants will present their own countries, own country heritage, traditions, culture, habits, languages and will try to teach each other. Supporting interaction among peers can foster some of the most fruitful learning because peers often share a deep understanding of each others’ common challenges, experiences, and practices, and have developed valuable expertise in their fields. The exchange will gather 40 young people between 18-25 years old with their team leaders from 5 EU and 5 EaP countries. The exchange will take place in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia and will be held between 15-23 of September, 2013.
