Paths to nature and ecological wellbeing is a bilateral youth exchange between Finland and Belgium. The exchange takes place in Kuusamo, northern Finland from 5th to 12th of July 2016. We want the young people, as the title says, to discover the different paths (practical, cognitive, spiritual and well-being) of nature / ecology. The project gathers together 38 participants; 32 youn people with their leaders and support persons and it lasts 10 months in total. With this project we want to find our paths to nature together and to think about ecological wellbeing. With the project we want to raise young peoples awareness to understand the importance of participation in the community life and developing the activities inside the community and also supporting each other socially, as well as taking care of our nature and living environments. We are searching for the "practical path" through outdoor sports as rafting and canoeing, expeditions but also connected to nature photography and environmental workshops. We learn more about like how the water can be so different ( wild and calm, clear and unclear, clean-wasted). We learn abotu well-being of the nature because because of the garbage people threw in the water , the water gets dirty too... that is learning concequences. Cognitive path is what we learn about everything we hear and see and the effects the nature, team activities and a community feeling can give to our on the well-being. By doing this exchange we hope that what they participants learn, they will take that with them to home and think more about the effect they can make. And also tell our experiences to parents and friends through local actions. We will plan and do local follow-up activities which have an environmental and ecologial approach - with youth participation, too!The spiritual path is more like the fun part and enjoying the nature and the charasteristics of it - together. Because calm and rest and quite life many of the particiants don't know since Belgium is all rush. Also the social part of our project is very important! We hope that after our exhange we can go to our home communities and say: " We found a path and a common will - How is yours?!" The project includes young people with fewer opportunities.
