PROJECT

“Petru Poni” Technological High school, an institution founded in September 2013 after the fusion of two neighboring schools with different organizational cultures, aimed, as a way of institutional development (for the 2013 – 2014 school year), to promote the image of the new school in the community, to better the interpersonal relationships between the two groups of teachers and to form a strongly united group, which should be familiarized with the European values applied in the educational process.
The board (cu sensul de comitetul de conducere) considered that the new school needed a professionally fresh group of teachers, by taking part in development courses which were intended to align our experience to a European level.
As a result, there appeared the idea to apply for an Erasmus project, especially because a small number of teachers had taken part in European projects before.
Our project, 2014-1-RO01-KA101-001040, “Steps in the creation of a European educational environment“ comprised four courses with three participants each. (twelve mobilities)
- “How to make your school more international”, organized by Euneos Oy in Benalmadena, Spain, 16 – 20 March 2015
- “One Nation, One Education” organized by AMFI International in Celano, Italy, 6 – 12 April 2015
- “European Project Management” organized by University European Circle in Riga, Latvia, 3-7 August 2015
- “European Diversity Education” organized by University European Circle in Riga, Latvia, 10 – 14 August 2015
The aim of the project was the development of teachers’ abilities to elaborate and implement European projects and the integration of European values in the educational and professional development process.
Objectives: the development of teachers’ abilities:
- To elaborate/implement European projects.
- To integrate the European values in the educational professional development process.
- To apply cohesion strategies at an institutional level.
- To apply modern learning strategies
The participant teachers’ got accustomed to elaborating European projects, strategies for the integration of the elements of diversity, cultural dialogue and multiculturalism and the educational activities, with certain aspects of the educational system of the host countries.
The teachers were pleased/happy with the mobilities, the interaction with other cultures, systems, mentalities. They have all shared their experience with their school colleagues as well as with colleagues from other schools, insisting on the personal and institutional benefits of this type of project.
