Project builds upon the two-year cooperation of Janakkala municipality’s educational development manager and Viimsi school principal. The parties involved have been networking and developing various common school activities since 2013. Our goal is continued cooperation between the two schools located in Finland and Estonia. Three persons from both schools are to be involved in job shadowing. In addition, five teachers will participate in teacher training. We also aim at diversifying student union activities, promoting student-initiated teaching methods and community learning. We would like to exploit innovative ways of incorporating information and communications technology into both teaching and learning. The project proposal includes travel to the partner institution and the locations of teacher training. Both parties, whether host or guest, will familiarize themselves with the other school’s everyday life and report their experiences through social media. The parties will also disseminate project experiences to the respective communities and plan future student-level activities. In the long run, we aim at developing the range of activities available to our student body, supporting students with special needs and promoting student-initiated teaching methods. We would like to bring more international activities to our schools and include them as a regular part of the school year. The above-mentioned outcomes could be achieved with ICT.
