PROJECT
FINISHED
This project has been prepared in accordance with the curriculum of our Extension Business School whose important characteristics is a guided work experience. One of its important parts is regular sending groups of our students to EU countries to enable them to obtain practical experience and thus increase their professional and language competence. Therefore, work placement in host countries will be an important contribution to their professional training.
The students are going to be placed in several organizations in Italy, Germany, Spain, Great Britain and Slovakia, ranging from industrial and business companies to educational institutions and government authorities. After the introductory training and health/safety schooling the students are going to participate in everyday work of the firms, their work conditions (e.g. working hours) being the same as those of regular employees.
In accordance with our tradition, we are going to emphasize the quality of the placements. We created evaluation mechanisms that proved very useful in past years.
The work experience itself is going to take place in the second half of May 2015. The first group of students is going to be placed in Spain, specifically in the city of Granada, where the mediating organization is company Europroyectos. Another group of students will carry out their practice in Košice, Slovakia. The third group is going to take place in Leeds, Great Britain, where the role of the host organisation is going to be carried out by Leeds City College. Another group of participants will carry out their practice in Gifhorn, Germany under the coordination of Humboldt Gymnasim´s staff and the final four students are going to travel to Pinerolo, Italy, where our host organisation is going to be local educational institute ISS Buniva.
The range of companies offering the practice is going to be similar in all four host countries, e.g. business companies, production plants, public institutions and non-profit agencies. The range of activities the participants are going to carry out is e.g. execution the commercial correspondence, accountancy, budgeting, invoicing, making final and other reports, managing accounts, operating specialized IT programmes, keeping various records and fullfilling other tasks. The main expectation of the project is gaining real labour experience, broadening language skills and realizing the acquired theoretical knowledge in the sphere of real companies and institutions.
