Gymnázium Zlín – Lesní čtvrť belongs to one of the biggest and most modern schools of our region. Our main goal is to provide our students with high quality education and thus open gateways to their professional careers. We would like all our students to perceive the school as a place which provides them with opportunities for personal growth while positively shaping their attitudes, opinions and values. We consider it necessary to extend the education process beyond school walls not only within the Zlín region or the Czech Republic but also Europe and even further. We realise the importance of European dimensions in our school and the importance of its internationalization. That is why it is essential to be actively engaged in the offered opportunities and establish partnerships and friendship among schools, teachers and students. Our goal in this field to create a network of partner schools which will enable our students to participate in mutual activities (partner school exchanges, projects, individual mobilities etc.). It is a longterm process which will be completed gradually by fulfillment of partial goals. Within the project Open School (Otevřená škola) it is our objective to enable then of our employees, which have the needed potential and aspiration, to develop necessary competence and motivation to be in charge of preparation and organization of international cooperation. We also expect that via gained contacts with from partcipants from other EU countries it will possible to establish future cooperation and partnership. Based on the created schedule the participants will go on individual mobilities. The school coordinator will manage the project on behalf of the headmastership, he will ensure fulfillment of the project goals, transfer of the results onto the target groups and their dissemination within the region.The benefit of the mobility, gained experience and information, educational materials etc. will be transfered by the participants to their colleagues within the given subject. The positive result of the participation on the project should be also transfered to the educational proces by lessons being more attractive, students more interested and motivated, the use of new methods ans ICT technologies. The teacher ought to become an example for other colleagues and they should all together create an active environment for establishing partnerships and cooperation with European schools. This is our longterm purpose to which the realization of this project should provide a gateway.
