This project will provide practical training to 35 students оидп PGSS in Maglizh, PG SGST Chepelare and PGT Slanchev Briag studying agriculturе and culinary arts, united in a consortium. The practice will be organised for 2 weeks in Italy on "From seeds to food". The main objective of the project is to improve the professional skills and competencies of the students acquired in Bulgaria through a traineeship in real working environment where European standards for organic farming are applied. Specific objectives are: Improving the professional competence of participants by learning from the Italian experience in organic farming and culinary arts with bio products; Learning from the experience of Italian specialists in producing organic food starting from crops planting to final consumers; Acquiring new professional competencies for marketing of bioproducts; Improving participants employability on the European labor market.
Nature provides farmers with all the resources needed to produce delicious food with high quality, ready to eat without any additives. Organic farmers must keep and maintain the quality of natural resources and the biological diversity. Future specialists, project participants will see in practice how natural resources are protected in Italy - soil, water, landscape, biodiversity, to contribute to better quality of life and how the gifts of nature should reach final consumers after an appropriate processing.
Beneficiaries in the project will learn about best practices of organic farming and culinary arts and the strong relationship of specialists in the two fields with the aim to provide quality food and local development..
Students from professional agricultural schools in Bulgaria have an excellent theoretical preparation, but no real experience in a country with traditions in the implementation of European standards in each stage of production of biological products and their utilisation in restaurants.
Expected results are improving the professional competence of participants in the field of organic farming - the management of the "closed cycle farm" for growing organic crops and its shortest way to the table; personal development and enrichment - increasing adaptability to new cultural environment, improving language skills in Italian; strengthening the cooperation between the consortium schools and the host organization - drawing on the the experience of implementation of transnational projects.
The results of the project will be disseminated on a large scale by the participants among the local communities, and also by the traditional media partners of the partner organisations: regional newspapers in South Bulgaria and Prealpina North e Italy.
