The goal of the project is to achieve sustainable management of natural resources and create conditions for environmental management of the Drava River basin, and to take necessary steps in water management as well as design complex solutions for spatial planning. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the synergy developed between nature and the effects of various economic and human resources, to education on environmental awareness, informing the local population about the program, training locals in the planning and implementation of the program and effective cooperation and use of program potentials, both on the Croatian and the Hungarian side. Achievements: Two project concepts were prepared to obtain a general water permit as well as the project documentation for the Water Supply System for the entire Podravina region. A comprehensive public discussion was conducted lectures, workshops, consultations, training programs, a conference which resulted in The Ormánság Region Environmental Management Plan draft. The participants in the planning process visited two similar projects. A large print run of training techniques, manuals and various informational materials was prepared. The expected cross-border effect will be projected through initial investments into a water management system on the Drava in Croatia.
