Project „ A success oriented” prepared by Gimnazjum nr 1 in Gniezno was aimed to improve the school system of job orientation by contributing the good practice observed in Italian school and by raising the teachers’ languages skills. Thanks to applying new, attractive educative methods we were going to extend the awareness of teenagers in the field of responsible, considered choice of further school education. Our actions were also focused on raising the level of European awareness among our students, preparing them to be the citizens of multinational, multicultural and multilingual society, where the awareness, respect and being interested in other cultures will be the key element and the ability of communication will be a valuable skill. Five teachers participated in the project. Three of them took part in the action called job shadow in Sardinia, two of them took part in the language course in Toscana. They were studying Italian. A vice principle, an English teacher and a language teaching advisor took part in school work observation. The weekly job shadow action at the hosting school allowed the teachers to know how Italian school worked in all assumed aspects. The teachers had meetings to the Italian headmaster, the Italian staff, they talked to the students, participated in the lessons, after lessons clubs, projects, including team - teaching. They studied the available files. Thanks to these actions they raised pedagogical, management skills, they also improved communication skills especially in English. Selected methods and tools have already been applied in the school system of job orientation. A Polish teacher and a librarian took part in an Italian language course. This action definitely widen the school offer in the field of teaching foreign languages, which is important in the possible further education abroad or getting a job there. Additionally, participating in the project the teachers gained knowledge about Italian school system, culture and habits, they also had a chance of visiting the most crucial monuments. It had an influence on the personal development, broaden the minds, cultural expression and awareness, which now are reflected in our educative process, which became more attractive. The teachers apply the gained knowledge and experience in everyday work but also they share it among other teachers, focusing on European values.
