Open your mind, multicultural experiences in the rural area

It is a group project for a period of eight months from February to October, where an Italian boy, Leonardo, and two volunteers from Germany and Denmark will participate. The Project is entitled "Open your mind, multicultural experiences in the rural area" because it encompasses many aspects regarding daily life in a village, and are in direct contact with youth, children, seniors, pilgrims, etc. The City Council wants all residents of Frómista to share and have services and quality of life, hence, training programs, cultural, leisure, sports, etc. Are carry out throughout the year for this sector of the population. The presence of European volunteers working in the village is a very important contribution.On the one hand, Leonardo will collaborate in the House of Culture performing digital awareness workshops: how to use the Internet and social networks in the call center, web, and educational workshops with young people, etc. Also, he’ll assist in the tourist office, (located in the Canal de Castilla), providing information to tourists, visitors and pilgrims on the various canal routes and tourist services in the municipality.The Danish volunteer will assist in learning the Absynet library system of Castile and Leon, to carry out loans, returns, placement of books, workshops to encourage reading, etc. and in the Office of Tourism( located on the promenade), helping and assisting pilgrims who are walking the Camino de Santiago and in the cultural offer of the municipality and province as well.The German volunteer, on the other hand, will focus his support to the House of Youth (is a Youth Information Point), approaching Europe, networks, etchelping in sports and entertainment in general with children and youth activities.They will hold a joint activity daily in the Residence for the Elderly. The activities proposed offer the residents a higher quality of life, such as improving the daily life of the physical conditions, the maintenance and improvement of hand motor skills, improving mental conditions and the revitalization and integration. And in the summer where all help in summer school, swimming pool and children week. Also, they may also carry out, depending on your personal abilities and skills, based program to bring their culture, cuisine and language to all inhabitants.
