PROJECT
FINISHED
The Armenian Cultural Fund‘s purpose is to widespread both Armenian culture and Hungarian culture, tradition and history among the youngsters and the minorities (besides the events connected to Armenian culture our foundation organizes and takes part in the events and programs related to the Hungarian culture and history, such as the commemorations of the 15th of March).
In our project we want to involve those youngsters who are interested in the mentioned topics and we try to give them useful and timeless knowledge. We would like to activate and help those disadvantaged youngsters, who would like to change their situation and are interested in new opportunities, but their educational, financial, or cultural situation doesn’t let them to make their first steps.
We think that it’s important to show them a way (in this case we would host 2 volunteers) about their possibilities to be more mobile and conscious not only in Hungary, but in hole Europe. This experience could be useful in continuing their studies abroad or working at multinational companies. Furthermore within our projects we fight against the discrimination and for the human rights.
The foundation publishes cultural magazines in Hungarian and Armenian languages containing articles that also reflect on the political life of Armenian Diasporas worldwide. Besides the editorial work, volunteers should complete tasks related to translations and writing of the articles, which gives them the opportunity to develop their language skills and computer competences.
We try to involve the most motivated volunteers, for that reason we always send the description of our EVS projects by e-mail to our partners, so that they can organize a meeting among inquiring people after sharing the information to detail our organization profile and expectations. All the volunteers have the same chance to be chosen no matter the gender, race, religion, sexual orientation. If we have the possibility to a personal meeting, we try to arrange it, but usually we only interview have via Skype or telephone.
The Armenian Cultural Found has colleagues who are highly educated and can perfectly speak in several languages ((English, German, French, Armenian and Russian). They support and help volunteers in each case. We have 10 years of experience and we have already hosted 16 volunteers
We have professional mentors who help volunteers to accomplish their tasks, and to feel themselves as confident as possible. Our intention is to continue our projects and popularize the possibilities given by Erasmus+ projects in rural environment so that everyone has the same opportunities. We try to organize more projects with our partners and also find other organizations with the interests similar to our.
While completing their tasks, our volunteers not only can get know to a different culture, but they can also learn other languages. Their project is also about the development of the personal skills and personality heir personality also go throw a while working in our organization (publishing newspaper, continuous active participation in our organization everyday life: like organizing and implementation events), and they can feel them-self more independent and European. They can develop their language skills which can help them in finding job (exp.: language skills, computer competences, teamwork). They have the opportunity to meet people with different social and cultural background, (minorities and handicapped person) so that they improve their empathy and the way of fighting against racism and anti-Semitism.
Besides all of these we think it is very important that volunteers be satisfied with their hosting country and organization and even with there job.
