One World , One Care - 2 European Summer School
Start date: Mar 1, 2011,

The theme of the 2nd European Summer School "One World, One Care" is Human Rights and, in particular, Youth Rights as Global Challenges.OBESSU believes that is important to raise awareness of global issues among European school students who should take those issues into consideration to become active and responsible citizens. The 2nd European Summer School wants to be a place to learn about the state of Human Rights and Youth Rights worldwide and to develop tools and solutions to tackle the topic in our everyday life.In today's world afflicted by wars, ethnic and religious tensions, social and cultural conflicts, it is fundamental to enhance the encounter of young people from different countries and to allow them to overcome prejudices, learn to accept differences and increase solidarity. The "One World, One Care" Summer School will be a non-formal learning environment where more than 40 school students from all over Europe will share their opinions, views and concerns, building intercultural understanding and a sense of European citizenship, while confronting with guests from all over the world engaged in the fight for Human Rights. The 2nd European Summer School will be held in France and will consist of several plenary sessions with high profile experts on the different aspects related to Human Rights and Youth Rights, as well as workshops and working groups which aim at fostering the sense of global solidarity and the active part-taking of young people in the democratic life. Finally, the Summer School also intends to be a place for socialisation and informal exchanges among young people, and will therefore include social, cultural and outdoors activities.
