Long term EVS "Once Upon a Volunteer" is a 12 month project that will be implemented by Volunteers’ Centre Zagreb as host organisation and organisations Fundacja DIALOG and Piaskowy Smok (Sand Dragon) foundation as sending organizations, involving two Polish volunteers. It will take place in Zagreb and in different local local communities in Croatia where international workcamps will be organised in cooperation with local partner organisations. Through international workcamps, as unique platform for youth inclusion, intercultural understanding and community building, as well as local voluntary activities and promotional activities, the project aims to promote volunteering and make people aware of the importance of active citizenship in our society.Volunteers will take part in the organization, implementation and evaluation of the workcamp season and in the education andpromotion support activities intended to ensure the high quality of volunteer programmes. In Zagreb, volunteer will be involved inthe different local voluntary activities (voluntary actions with kids, homeless people actions with kids, elderly people, homelesspeople and other vulnerable groups). Moreover volunteer will be involved in the campaign for the International Day of Peace andcelebration of the International Volunteers' Day.This project will give volunteers an opportunity to learn and work in a diverse and stimulating environment, get to know thechallenges of Croatian reality and aid in the enhancement of solidarity in our society, particularly among youth.
