PROJECT
FINISHED
Within the project we will organize internships of students and graduates at companies and organizations in the UK and Ireland in cooperation with our partners. The project will enable us to provide our students good practice abroad, with high added value. During the placement participants will gain professional practice in international companies, acquire new knowledge and gain work experience. Participants will use acquired knowledge, skills and competencies in further studies and at work. The project responds to the needs of the labor market. The school prepares students for work in the field of glass and jewelery industry. These are the branches that are strongly export-oriented. Therefore, employers require from our graduates high level of expertise, quality practice (preferably from abroad) and a good level of English.
The project aims to improve the quality of professional practice of students from 3rd year of study and extend the possibility of gaining experience for graduates from the 4th year of school. The project will bring participants certified practices from abroad that will strengthen their professional knowledge, skills and competencies, improve their level of English and improve their job mobility. The sub-objectives of the project are to know new working methods and techniques, learn the organization of work, gain work habits, know the local culture, develop personality of participants and gain life experience.
The project aims to support the school itself. For the development of schools, we need to continually improve teaching, establish and maintain cooperation with foreign partners and increasing the appeal of learning. Thanks to project activities we acquire new impulses and ideas for improving the professional and practical education. The project will also promote the growth of skills and experience of the members of the project team.
The project will be organized for 8 students from the 3rd year of study and 7 graduates. Participants are focused on Glass Design, Product Design and Applied Chemistry. Practice of the 3rd year students will be three weeks long and will take place in the UK and Ireland. Graduate´s practice will be in the same countries, 4 weeks long. There will be an accompanying person with participants from the 3rd year of study.
Participants focused on Design of Glass will gain experience in workshops and studios of design, architecture, glass and similar companies. They will learn to work with different materials, try out new techniques, and create designs, patterns and samples using specialized software and classical techniques. Participants focused on Product Design will gain experience in design, graphic, architecture and advertising studies. They will use artistic techniques and work with graphics software. Participants will design products, create promotional materials, samples, etc. Participants focused on Applied Chemistry will gain experience in laboratories and similar facilities of chemicals, food and other businesses. They will improve in procedures for the preparation and analysis of samples, become familiar with measuring and analytical procedures and learn how to operate the laboratory instruments and appliances. To ensure the quality of internships we will use ECVET.
The results of the project will be mainly in intangible form. Participants will receive during internship language, personal and intercultural competences. Specific acquired knowledge, skills and competencies of participants will vary depending on vocational orientation of internships. Participants will improve their skills in their field, become familiar with the corporate culture, working practices, local methods of work and compare their experience with foreign practice. Internships will contribute to the growth of the labor mobility of participants. The tangible results will include design proposals, products of participants, certificates (Europass Mobility certificates from intermediary partners) and photographs from the internship.
Implementation of the project will have a positive impact on the professional level of participants, their further education and in entering the labor market. The impact of the project on the school will be in the field of development of international cooperation, exchange of experience, human resource development, improvement of teaching methods and building of image and prestige of the school. The project will increase the interest in studying at our school. We will prepare qualified persons who have intercultural experiences, are mobile and, if necessary, are able to seek uptake outside their home region or country. An important benefit of the project is also the standardization and eligibility of practice that is ensured through the use of European instruments - Europass Mobility and ECVET.
