PROJECT
FINISHED
The Project will be executed by the Complex of Agricultural Engineering and Food Economy Schools (ZSAiGŻ) in Radom. The subject of the Project refers to the important problems connected with the natural environment protection. We are currently witnessing the continuing progressive deterioration of this environment. It is the responsibility of vocational schools to make their students aware of these important issues. Taking into account the fact that the environmental protection is of concern to various occupational groups, the students of all professions offered by our school can participate in the Project. Therefore, we intend to organize the trip of five groups of 18 students each, together with two tutors from the following technical schools: landscape architecture, agricultural mechanization, renewable energy systems and devices, veterinary medicine, as well as nutrition and catering service. Each of the aforementioned professions involves the danger of negative impact of the applied technologies and working methods on the natural environment. Each traineeship is going to last 2 weeks, and they are going to be realized within the period between winter 2015 and spring 2017.
We have carefully selected our foreign partners to cooperate in the execution of our Project. These are 3 vocational training centres located in different regions of Germany: DEULA Nienburg, DEULA Hildesheim, and ILLUT - Bonn - Berlin. We were cooperating with these partners in the past and we are familiar with their capabilities and advantages. The Project has been preceded with preliminary visits to our partners. During the visits we have agreed the scope of the planned traineeship and its execution schedule.
Thanks to the participation in the Project the students are going to learn, among others, how Germany manages to deal with the threats to the natural environment connected with the following issues: chemical plant protection, mineral and organic fertilisation, waste oils, lubricants, greases, and food leftovers as well as various packages utilization, animal excrements management, problems one can encounter while acquiring energy from biogas, wind, or the Sun. The trainees during their stay in Germany will have the possibility to observe how the companies act within the professions they are studying. As a result, they will be able to become convinced that there is the demand for such types of services. By watching the proven German solutions, students can later implement them in their own environment.
ZSAiGŻ has already possessed a broad experience in the area of vocational traineeship organization for their students. We always endeavour to choose subject matter which is of essence to our future graduates. The thing is that the students should be able to successfully apply the skills and experience gained during the foreign traineeship, to their future professional work.
The long-term intention behind the Project is to contribute to the reduction of unemployment in Radom and the Radom poviat as well as to improve the structure of employment in rural areas. The percentage of people directly employed in agriculture is still too high in Poland. Owing to the fact that over 80% of students attending the agronomic-technical school live in the countryside, our school has a particularly important task to fulfill in this field. We need to optimally and effectively prepare our students for finding their way in the labour market after graduation. This Project is going to make the task easier for us to perform.
The objective of the Project is to enhance knowledge and skills of trainees, help them gain experience in the use of modern machinery and equipment, as well as familiarize them with the threats to the natural environment, which accompany particular professions. The project will increase the attractiveness of vocational education. It will promote knowledge of another country and improve the students’ language skills. Also the skills to adapt to new working conditions in a culturally different environment will be developed, which should contribute to better functioning of students in the labour market.
Every activity aiming at activation of people of a productive age is valuable, especially in the areas with high unemployment. Without doubt, the Project which is intended to be implemented by the ZSAiGŻ can be treated as one of such activities. The objectives of the project are in line with the regional policy. The predominant aims involve taking appropriate steps to increase the level of education and employment opportunities by enhancing the mobility of the inhabitants of the region, as well as through the improvement of the knowledge of foreign languages. The traineeship of our students abroad will allow them to gain new practical skills. This may in turn influence rapid modernization of farms, the establishment of small service companies or small catering facilities that would meet the needs of local communities.
