PROJECT
FINISHED
Our school has been the leader among the schools in our region for many years. It is located in a rural area with a high rate of unemployment and a lot of the students come from families who are at the risk of marginalisation, poverty and social exclusion. Also in recent years the number of pupils with special needs has increased, among them pupils from migrant families ( Marocco, Italy, Great Britain), national minority ( Romany), pupils with various disabilities ( dyslexia, ADHD, ADD ) as well as pupils from disadvantaged social backgrounds. Despite the efforts , which the teachers put into leveling out the pupils’ chances, the effects aren’t satisfactory. We use modern technology for teaching, among them: interactive white boards, tablets, laptops or visualisers. However, not all teachers are skillful enough to incorporate them into classroom. In European Development Plan for the years 2016-2018 we planned many activities to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in our school. They resulted from the evaluation which revealed the necessity to improve work and getting to know strategies of working with students of special needs. We also noticed the necessity to make our teaching more attractive by introducing new technologies. The participants of the project will take part in foreign courses whose subject matter will correlate with the school needs. The key people engaged in the project will be: the project coordinator and the teachers of English, who were the coordinators of previous Socrates- Comenius and Comenius LLP projects. Besides, other members of the project team will be equally involved. After finishing the training courses, the modern teaching materials will make teaching and learning more efficient and attractive. Using new technologies and cooperation with European institutions will give our activities European dimension and the final products of our project will be disseminated and popularized in the local and regional communities.
