New Year 4 New Europe

The project "New Europe 4 New Europe" will involve 32 young people from 6 countries (Italy, Iceland Estonia, Armenia, Ukraina and Georgia. The youth exchange will take place in Palermo, capital of Sicily and will last 8 days plus travel days. YE aims to promote active citizenship and European awareness with special focus on know new EU programme for Youth Erasmus for All/YES programme and to reflect on the benefits and impact of the YiA programmes on young people's life and EU perception.Young participants will meet in Palermo to discuss and exchange past experience with projects of EU involving youth and to deepen they knowledge about new programmes from 2014 on . They will also exchange ideas and perceptions about EU, discussing and drafting concrete proposals for youth in the view forthcoming European elections in 2014 to be presented to future EMP and to be shared among youth. Concrete result of the youth exchange will be a video created by participants in which will contain their suggestions and proposals for new European youth policies. By means of meetings, discussions, creative workshops, meeting with local NGOs in the city, intercultural moments and pooling of each others experience themes of the YE will be developed together. Workshops will be always aimed at foster local participation. Methodological approach for activities will be in the frame of non-formal education, being inclusive and oriented to use peer to peer interaction, open exchange of ideas and contributions in order to enrich and stimulate mutually involved participants. Intercultural dialogue will be encouraged through thematic national evenings interaction with Italian environment and its traditions, in particular focusing on Christmas, which will allow participants to recognize and value reciprocal diversity.The youth exchange will also involve youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds from all the involved countries in mixed groups.
