We believe that Charusheela made quite rich impact on herself, as well as hosting organization and local community. Project “New level” was successful due to the amount of volunteer’s service results. We believe that Sheela grown up on both personal and professional levels. She experienced not only new challenges in ICT and public relations of NGO, but also clear impact on her was also the life and work in culturally different environment, shared experience of KURO HK staff, living and working with other EVS volunteers and new experiences while working in partner organizations. The language impact was quite impressive on Sheela as well. At the beginning of the project she barely understood English, but in the end of the project she was perfectly active in communication in English and also basic of Czech communication, especially with children.
Impact on our target group (local volunteers and local community) is ensured by activities undertaken and presence of the volunteer herself. Being international volunteer in Hradec Kralove, especially with such challenging migrant background as Sheela had, is still something unusual and most of meetings with locals result in surprise or questions about international volunteering and EVS. Presentations about own culture and country created and conducted by volunteer on public help to strengthen this impact. Her help with development ICT strategy for KURO HK had an immediate impact on KURO´s target group by making access to them easier and opening more ways to disseminate activities of KURO HK and its current and future EVS volunteers.
