“New horizons” project is about growing and progress, is an opportunity for personal development and social development through volunteering, that is a chance to transform persons, lives, communities. This project will happen in Germany, in Gemeinde Beelen organization, with two volunteers from Portugal, where the volunteers being part of a new communitie will know more about themselves and about the intercultural world where they are included. It will be, 12 months for one volunteer and 10 months for other, of positive changes and achievements. The objectives of this project are to promote active citizenship among youngsters; to increase the participation of young people; to promote cultural diversity and to promote interculturality between childrens and young people; to create non formal spaces of sharing, learning and growing between childrens, youngsters and elderly with diferents origins and backgrounds; to promote volunteering. The volunteers will maintain and bring creative dynamics to the hosting organization, being involved in different activities and events and giving her own ideas and implementing projects based in her interest and motivations, and in the goals and targets of the hosting organization, always in a optic of development and empowerment. “New horizons” is part of a strategy from the sending organization for promote and demystify the EVS for potential future volunteers from Famalicão city.
