New Challenges
Our school plan for mobility responds to the needs of furthering the professional development of the school staff attending structured training course abroad.
Teachers can’t escape the growing trend of technology in the classroom, slowly and carefully we have to step in and be one with the challenge. In technological field we are certainly outmatched by the tech-savvy younger generation. The iPads, smartphones and tablets are allowing students to grow in cyberspace, of which some of the teachers have little knowledge. Therefore it is essential to be aware of our technological surroundings and overcome obstacles to get the most out of the use of ICT.
New classroom technologies should be integrated with the students learning experience, instead of interfering with the educational environment. Technology alone can’t create a successful student, but it’s definitely a big part of it. It can address the learning goals successfully offering powerful way to learn and prepare learning environment.
For teachers, some of which are just beginning to use tablets and mobile devices in class, training can be invaluable in promoting more interactive classroom and understanding how best to use and control such products.
Taking part in a varieties of course abroad will offer exciting opportunities to broaden teachers' knowledge and skills especially in the field of digital technologies while improving foreign language competence. These skills will provide a broader perspective on education, as well ensuring the exchange of knowledge and best practices in education.
Moreover enhancing ICT will make learning more open and flexible attracting students interest, addressing those who show little enthusiasm in traditional classroom activities, but are often computer wizard. It will contribute to reduce school disaffection and dropout. Widening the level of skills of the students, including those with fewer opportunities, will contribute to their social inclusion making them more competitive in the labour market and competitive economy.
Course participants will increase their familiarity with a range of tools and core processes applicable in teaching and learning and this will contribute to their professional development. They will learn the technical know-how to integrate the appropriate ICT-tools and Video conferences in the international projects to start streamlining these elements in the subjects across school years and across subjects (cross-curricular approach).
The courses will provide them with the ability to implement challenging, innovative and creative activities for students in project based learning projects which can be developed with partner schools in future partnership projects. As a result the international activities and dimension of the school will increase.
The training activities will contribute to the professional development not only of the staff involved, but also of the whole school community at regional, national and international level through associations of teachers and networks of schools.
Thanks to the wider use of ICT technology students will become more confident in their abilities, more motivated for learning and developing the skills and competence necessary for the world of work, active members of knowledge society and citizens of multicultural Europe .
