NAVALTECH - Identification, Analysis and Development of Training Materials for Jobs connected with the Shipbuilding Industry affected by the introduction of New Technologies

NAVALTECH will identify, analyse and develop training material for jobs connected to the shipbuilding industry affected by the introduction of new technologies.The project will: identify the new technologies affecting employment in the sector; contribute to the process of transparency of qualifications; identify training needs related to the introduction of new technologies; develop an appropriate modular training model; encourage the adaptation of organisational structures in response to the requirements of the information and knowledge society; introduce responsive training and continuous improvement in small companies in the industry.Results will include: an analysis of the effects of new technologies on the shipbuilding industry; a study on the potential effects (over the next 3 to 4 years) of new technologies on the shipbuilding and associated industries; an outline of existing jobs in shipbuilding and the associated industries; a diagnostic report on the jobs to be most affected within these key industries; a series of training materials (CD-Rom) in the areas of manufacture and production supporting the adaptation of individual job profiles; a dedicated website to act as a platform for all of the developed reports and materials.Dissemination will take place amongst relevant professional bodies and will comprise three individual phases: awareness-raising of the project and its objectives; informing interested parties of the methods and processes of the project and presenting any initial findings; presenting all products, findings and outcomes of the project.
