The project” The Teacher Meeting the European Needs is a Chance for a Student from a Little Town” is directly addressed to the teachers of Krościenko n.D Grammar School, however the effects of their activities will in future benefit all students of the school. Through upgrading their skills on overseas courses  the teachers will  take up the activities in the school, local area and  community to obtain the goals of: fighting the failure in education, providing students with skills required on the work market, promoting open-mindedness, tolerance and respect for differences as well as development of the sense of belonging to the European community. There are 6 teachers taking part in the project, three of whom are the language teachers and a librarian and literature, computer studies and history teachers.The language courses for the teachers aim at preparing them for cooperation with foreign schools which we want to make contact with. During the language course the teachers not only expand their competence in foreign tongue but also acquire the latest methods in teaching. Having the opportunity to exchange their experience with fellow teachers form different countries will also boost their motivation for work. Certainly they will meet the opportunity to get acquainted with newest opportunities provided by IT technology. For instance working on the multimedia board is a European standard nowadays.The new methods of teaching and modern IT technology and knowledge of the foreign countries  will allow to better motivate students for learning foreign languages. Knowing that their teachers have a good competence of language and have refreshed it recently in the native language country make them believe it is vital to learn the foreign language.Information about the project will be passed over through www sites, multimedia presentations, interviews in local media. Evaluation of the project will be conducted through questionnaires, interviews and observations. The final effect will be increased level of school’s prestige and the competence of both students and teachers.
