Na krilih jezika is a multilateral project based on partnership of four organisations; CUDV Dobrna from Slovenia and three public institutions from Croatia (Center Fortica, Center Šubićevac in Škola za odgoj i obrazovanje Pula). All involved organisations act as educational, rehabilitation and residential centres for children, youth and adults with special needs, predominantly developmental disorders and physical disabilities. Also all four involved partners share vision and commitment to offer experience of participation and inclusion in every-day life to young people with severe developmental disabilities and disorders. Project consists of three youth exchanges, key participants will be young adults with developmental disabilities (cognitive impairment and associated physical disability and autism spectrum disorder, health problems). First bilateral exchange will take place in Kraljevica (Croatia) in august 2015, with Center Fortica (host) and CUDV Dobrna (sending organization) as participating partners. In September 2015 Center Šubićevac in Šibenik (Croatia) will host second bilateral exchange with participants from CUDV Dobrna as sending organisation. Last in line of activities will be three lateral exchange in Dobrna (Slovenia) with CUDV Dobrna as host organization and Center Šubićevac (Croatia) and Škola za odgoj I obrazovanje Pula (Croatia) as sending organisations. Focus of the project is commmunication in mother as well as in foreign language. A chosen theme represents a challenge as the group of young adults is facing specific language development challenges, some might not even use verbal communication. Expected impact of the project is development and increase of competenc sef-esteem and motivation of participants for language learning and communication in general. Partially, also increase of their ICT competences. Expected benefit from organisational perspective is a gain of new knowledge and methods in the field of learning foreign languages and practical results such as travel application with dicitionary (mobile phones or tablets) and video dictionary.
