The purpose of this project is to celebrate creativity and imagination, while drawing on existing texts that highlight the national specificities. Pupils will be invited to take a look at their national myths and legends and compare them with those of their partners, with a view to discovering what unites us and what makes us unique at the same time. This comparative approach will be presented in the form of a brochure. The pupils will then try to re-write the old myths and adapt them to 21st century realities that they are more familiar with. At the end of the project, they will try to stage a theatre performance that will be a visual and interactive representation of the myths. The tasks involve a combination of cognitive skills (such as evaluating and composing alternatives, carrying out some prior investigation, meaning construction and composing) and communication skills (through the permanent contact with the team members in the school and with the partner team). The project is also based on an interdisciplinary approach, as it combines knowledge and skills pertaining to literature, foreign languages, history and arts.
