Muzeu viu: Romanii de langa noi
Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Live Museum: Romanians around us" Traditions are the defining mark of a nation, the symbol on which from immemorial time imperishable values have settled, treasures that should not be forgotten or abandoned. The roots, the soul, the music, the nature, the faith, the purpose and ordinances of life, in a word the eternity, are elements of the Romanian soul and nation. It is a moral duty, a primary obligation of today's generations to preserve and conserve all that along time has represented the soul of the village: traditions and customs, all that we have inherited, what defines us or characterizes us and makes us original in the big European family and into the world. Be it Christmas, Easter, funerals, births, baptisms, weddings, the customs and traditions are common to all Romanians - and here we refer to three neighbouring areas, Oltenia and Timok Valley in Serbia and Bulgaria. Although Romanians in Bulgaria and Serbia do not have Romanian schools nor laws that could help them much, on both banks of the Danube, the Romanians continue for centuries the same customs and crafts. And so that this wealth not to be lost, those who still preserve it have to pass it to young people who will pass it at their turn to their children. The project aims to promote Romanian folk traditions, culture and spirituality in the three Romanian territories: Oltenia, Serbian Timok and Bulgarian Timok. The project aims also to give value to the creative and entrepreneurial potential of young volunteers in the 3 partner organizations, actively participating in the social and cultural life of the community. To achieve this goal, the project will involve both older generations of Romanians in the three areas, keepers of traditions and spirituality, and especially young people from Oltenia and from the both sides of Timok, who will learn these traditions from the elders and will pass them on. Objectives General - Active and direct participation of 30 young people from Oltenia, Serbia and Bulgaria in the project, getting involved in the social and cultural life of the communities in which they live, in preserving Romanian traditions - To promote the Romanian customs, traditional crafts, creativity and originality among young people in the 3 areas - To attract a large number of young Romanians in the country and abroad to know their traditions, traditional crafts and learn to become entrepreneurs in this field Specific - To initiate and guide 30 young people from Oltenia, Serbia and Bulgaria in Romanian traditions and spirituality, participating in 3 sessions of Romanian traditions, folklore and crafts "Live Museum" - To develop entrepreneurship among young people through the preservation and transmission of the Romanian traditional culture and combating youth unemployment in the 3 areas - To develop teamwork skills, organization, mobilization, creativity of the 30 young people Activities: organization of the project and youth groups in Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria; launch of the project; organization of the activity - Kladovo; first mobility activity, Kladovo, Serbia; organization of the activity - Oreahovo; second mobility activity - Oreahovo, Bulgaria; organization of the activity - Craiova; third mobility activity - Craiova, Romania; dissemination and evaluation; final report. By participating in this project, the 30 young people will be encouraged to inform themselves on homeland traditions, on how to preserve and promote them, on how to pass them on, to develop their entrepreneurship by continuing these traditions and crafts, developing the economy and tourism in those areas and combating youth unemployment. Young people will be encouraged to get involved in the projects that promote them, they will eliminate communication barriers imposed by official boundaries or with categories that tend to exclude them - people with disabilities and financial, social, geographical difficulties; they will be encouraged to put at work their ingenuity in creating original things. The following non-formal methods will be used: brainstorming, debate, dialogue, interviews, analysis and introspection, ordering and defining exercises, energizing games in open space, working in small and large groups, creativity. The project "Live Museum: Romanians around us" is a mobility, trilateral project, the partners being the Association CREEAZA ROMANESTE in Craiova, Romania, the Association for Romanian Tradition and Culture "Dunarea" in Kladovo, Serbia and Narodno Citaliste "Nadejda 1871" from Oreahovo, Bulgaria.
