The project “Multicultural routes” will be implemented by the Cluj-Napoca Volunteer Centre between July 2015 and November 2016, under Key Action 1, Learning Mobility for Individuals, through the Erasmus+ Programme. Along with Cluj-Napoca Volunteer Centre, six other international partners will be involved in the project: two from Germany, and from Spain, Finland, Austria and Poland.
Through the project, CVCN will host 6 volunteers for one year EVS service in Cluj-Napoca. The volunteers will be involved in hospital animation activities in several sections of the children hospital in Cluj-Napoca, will implement non-formal education activities within a multicultural club for primary school students in rural communities around Cluj-Napoca (Floresti, Tureni and Sinpaul), and will get involved and promote local cultural initiatives in the community.
The project aims to promote the involvement of volunteers in public institutions (hospital and schools) and to contribute to the general efforts of the community to develop the cultural sector in order to become a good competitor for the European Cultural Capital title in 2021. At the same time, the project is designed in a manner to facilitate the personal and professional development of the 6 EVS volunteers by creating the proper support system for them to gradually adapt the service according to their needs and expectations.
The entire learning process of the volunteers will be based on non-formal education methods, meant to make the volunteers aware of their learning process and encourage them to take responsibility towards accomplishing their own learning goals, both during their service, but also afterwards in their lives.
