MUCEX I
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Project MUCEX I is a mobility project for trainees and trainers of the Flughafen München GmbH, the trainees system of the professional training is the German dual system. For the past 20 years, the Flughafen München GmbH benefits from deployment supported by the EU. We also want to continue holding on to this success story. For that reason annually new projects are planned, applied for and performed. The stay abroad takes places during the third year of the training ship. A trainer may take part in a flow after the Flughafen München internal nomination as “trainer representative”, a perennially experience as such and under certain internal criteria. The time abroad for trainees is two weeks and one week for trainers (not including arrival and departure day). The following professional training groups will be sent to the following partner airports: Athens International Airport: Office Managers and Real Estate Specialists Flughafen Wien AG: Mechatronics Copenhagen International Airport: Qualified IT-specialist in Application Development and Qualified IT-specialist in Systems Integration Malta International Airport: Aviation Service Specialist and Office Managers Finavia (Helsinki Airport): Trainer from the different areas of the Munich Airport Within two years a total of , 38 trainees and 10 trainers should have the possibility to take part in such a program. The nomination is an internal process by which 50 % will be nominated by effort (grade of professional school, rating sheet and the intermediate examination result) and 50 % will be nominated by fortune, so that weaker trainees is given a chance. Trainers will be nominated by internal criteria (outstanding commitment, specialty department, language skills). After nomination a workshop for preparation in the fields of language, intercultural understanding and organizational issues regarding the upcoming mobility is being held. During the program the participants will be assisted by the senders and receivers facility. As a conclusion after the program a wrap-up workshop and a presentation at Munich Airport is held. After intensive pre-discussions between the two partner airports the trainees will be deployed in diverse occupational departments. There they will have self-contained tasks and projects, ideal in departments/areas the Flughafen München GmbH is not able to offer them and accordingly with the trainers, departments/areas which deal with on-the-job training of trainees and staff. The participants gain an overall impression of another European airport (beyond one’s own nose), develop their language skills (English: min. one level higher than their starting point, other foreign languages: basic knowledge), improve their intercultural competences (which contribute to the internationalization strategy of the Flughafen München GmbH) and have several projects such as the creation of a handbook which serves as a method of knowledge transfer for other future trainees, trainers and staff of the Flughafen München GmbH. During the mobility the sending and receiving partners work closely together in terms of monitoring. This ensures the learning success of the trainees. For certification of the new gained skills and knowledge they will receive the “europass Mobilität” and a comment in their professional training certificate and personnel file respectively. Furthermore we have gained experience over the past years that trainees will receive job offers preferential in the potential takeover department. That shows that this is a distinct takeover advantage of participating in mobility. Furthermore mobility measures also contribute to position the Flughafen München GmbH as a attractive employer for trainees and staff. The expert knowledge and findings out of the time abroad will be communicated and distributed by diverse usage of media, e.g. communicated to the management, recruiters and other staff by a final presentation. These presentations will be uploaded to the Flughafen München GmbH Intranet as well as the career website (shortened version). Besides that reports in irregular intervals will be published in Munich Airports newspaper “Motion”. This ensures a long term benefit for all staff of the company. Public relations for our Erasmus+ project are done via Facebook, the career website of the FMT and in the daily news. In addition our participants were interviewed e. g. for the magazine “Einstieg” and our experiences with EU Projects and the mobility certificate were cited in the magazine “bildung für europa”.
